<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a method for detecting abnormality of a drive device having a multi-phase motor and a power converter connected in series to the motor. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter 2 controls voltages of individual phases of the motor 1, and a plurality of phase currents of the phase of the motor 1 are periodically changed respectively. In this case, a large number of the phase currents of the motor 1 are measured in order to measure the abnormality. A large number of the phase currents (I1, I2) of the motor 1 are measured during pre-setting the period at each time when the phase currents are changed at the same time of voltages (U1, U2) attendant on the phases (I1, I2) corresponding to the motor 1 in order to detect the abnormality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
