PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water wheel generation device allowing the use of water flowing in a channel, discharge channel or low-head river, not utilized so far, for electric power only by constructing a simple foundation in the existing channel, discharge channel from a generation plant or river. SOLUTION: The water wheel generation device has a suction port 2a adjustable into a constant flow rate. Water flowing in the existing channel, discharge channel from the generation plant or low-head river are introduced via the suction port 2a and a constant flow rate of water is guided to a water wheel runner (a portion of a rotary vane 7a of a water wheel 7) without using control equipment. A first mechanism part (a constant position adjuster 1) capable of adjusting the suction port 2a at least upward and downward and a second mechanism part (an up-and-down moving motor and an up-and-down moving manual handle 14) capable of adjusting a water depth with the up-and-down movement of the whole water wheel are provided for controlling water power energy to be introduced corresponding to the shape of a water stream and the water depth. A support frame 1 to be fixed on the foundation of both sides of channel and supporting the whole water wheel in free up-and-down movement is provided for simple installation on various places.
