Disclosed is an L-Arginine containing pharmaceutical composition, wherein the composition contains L-arginine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in solid form as well as a pharmaceutically acceptable organic acid in solid form, wherein the quantity of the organic acid present in the composition is chosen such that the molar ratio of the acid functionalities of the organic acidto one of the two basic centers of L-arginine ranges from 0.5 to 1.5.
