摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing mercury from the flue gas of a high temperature equipment. <P>SOLUTION: When a bromine and/or a bromine compound and/or various kinds of bromine compounds are supplied to a multi-stage heating furnace and/or a flue gas of equipment part on the downstream side from the heating furnace, the first contact temperature of the bromine compound with the flue gas is at least 500&deg;C, preferably 800&deg;C, and the burning is performed by adding or not adding sulfur and/or a sulfur compound and/or a mixture of a various kind of the sulfur compounds in the presence of the sulfer compound, specially sulfur dioxide. And in order to remove a mercury from the flue gas, the flue gas is cleaned up in multi-stages by wet-type scrubber and/or a dry-type clean up. When a Hg concentration is low or the Hg concentration is rather high or even the Hg concentration is extremely high, the method is widely applicable and is performed and operated at a low cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
