<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the chlorine concentration in a thermal decomposition residue in an apparatus for washing the thermal decomposition residue of waste which can separate the waste to thermal decomposition gas and the thermal decomposition residue and is suited for washing the separated thermal decomposition residue. <P>SOLUTION: The waste is thermally decomposed in a thermal decomposition furnace 2, and the continuously produced thermal decomposition residue (carbide) is water-cooled and mixed with water in a cooling/mixing tank 6 to produce a carbide slurry. Chlorine included in the carbide is removed in the water of the carbide slurry. The carbide slurry is guided to a dewatering/washing apparatus 30 and is dewatered. In addition, the dewatered carbide is washed in the dewatering/washing apparatus 30. By the washing, the chlorine attached to the carbide is removed, and therefore the chlorine concentration in the carbide is further lowered. A water treating apparatus 31 performs desalination for the water dewatered by the dewatering/washing apparatus 30. Desalted water obtained by the desalination is reused in the cooling/mixing tank 6 and the dewatering/washing apparatus 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
