PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric supporting plate for sewing in a sewing machine which can realize a sewing pattern wherein a skipping stitch does not occur. SOLUTION: On a throat plate 21, a needle passing hole 27 which allows a vertical movement of a needle 24 between an top dead center position and a bottom dead center position is formed. Also, at a location on a pressor 22 corresponding to the needle passing hole 27 of the throat plate 21, a through-hole which allows the vertical movement of the needle 24 is formed, and in the through-hole, a fitting member 51 on which a needle passing hole is formed is fitted. Respective needle passing holes 27 are formed in such a manner that the opening diameter of the lower end side opening is made smaller than the opening diameter of the upper end side opening, and the shape of a vertical section profile has a tapered shape which is narrower on a side closer to the lower end side. Therefore, the needle 24 which is passed through the needle passing holes 27 is positioned to the center of the needle passing holes 27 by being guided by the inner peripheral surface of the needle passing holes 27.
