PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging system and a charge collecting method capable of widening the active range of an electric vehicle, and easily executing charge collection. SOLUTION: The charging system S is provided with a charging stand 1 and a totaling device 2 connected through a network 3 to the charging stand 1. The charging stand 1 is provided with an identification information registering means 12 for registering the identification information of a user, a charging power supplying means 14 for supplying a charging power, a charging power usage measuring means 15 for measuring charging power usage, and a transmitting means 17 for transmitting the identification information and the charging power usage to the totaling device 2. The totaling device 2 is provided with a data management means 21 as a totaling means for totaling the charging power usage for each user based on the identification information and charging power usage.
