OUTER LOOP TRANSMISSION POWER CONTROL METHOD AND RADIO COMMUNICATION DEVICE

In a radio communication system containing A-DPCH (Associated - Dedicated Physical Channel) and HS-DPCCH (High Speed - Dedicated Physical Control Channel), it is possible to perform an appropriate outer loop transmission power control for the HS-DPCCH even during DTX (Discontinuous Transmission) of the A-DPCH. A transmission data monitoring section (12) monitors whether a bit string transmitted via the A-DPCH is present. A pseudo data creation section (14) creates a random series used for HS-DPCCH outer loop transmission power control during a DTX section having no bit string. An encoding section (16) CRC-encodes the random series created. A transmission radio section (22) transmits the CRC-encoded random series via the A-DPCH.
