PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide powder which is used for cosmetics, has a sufficient transparent appearance, gives a natural finish, has a soft focus effect, and can effectively cover the dark shades, pores, stains, freckles, and unevenness of skins, and to provide a cosmetic containing the powder for the cosmetic. SOLUTION: This powder for the cosmetic is characterized by mixing and pulverizing scaly powder with a pearl gloss material and having an average particle diameter of 5 to 15μm. An embodiment wherein the scaly powder is mica or sericite is preferable. An embodiment wherein the pearl gloss material is titanated mica or iron oxide-coated titanated mica is preferable.
