PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially useful method synthesizing (per)fluorohalogen ethers in high selectivity without using a catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for production of the fluorohaogen ethers comprises reacting a carbonyl compound expressed by general formula (II): (R)pC(F)q(O) with fluorine and an olefin expressed by general formula (III):CAF=CA'F, at -120°C to -20°C in liquid phase. In general formula (II) R is F or a substituent obtained by fluorination, preferably perfluorination of a group selected from a chain or branched alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aromatic arylalkyl group, an aromatic alkylaryl group, a heterocyclic or an alkylheterocyclic group, p is 1 or 2, q is an integer of 0 or 1.
