A pivotable folding utility table includes a table top (12) and a support frame (40) having a pair of support pedestals (18, 20) pivotally attached thereto. A first pivotal support brace (24), which includes a proximal end (26) and a distal end (28) , is attached at its proximal end (26) to the first support pedestal (18). A second pivota l support brace (30), which includes a proximal end (32) and a distal end (34), is attached at its proximal end (32) to the second support pedestal (20). The distal ends (28, 34) of th e first and second pivotal support braces (24, 30) are adapted to be pivotally attached to a retaining assembly (36), mounted in relation to the table top (12). The distal end (28 ) of the first pivotal support brace (24) is attached to the distal end (34) of the second pivotal support brace (30), wherein both distal ends (28, 34) are adapted to pivotally engag e the retaining assembly (36). In one preferred embodiment, the retaining assembly (36) includes a cross-brace member operably disposed through openings (142) formed in the distal ends (2 8, 34) of the first and second pivotal support braces (24, 30), thus providing a pivotal engagement in relation to the rigid frame (40) and the table top (12). -24-
