PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively shield an object from neutrons andγrays, and to provide a composition for a neutron shield which has proper workability, as well as maintains refractoriness. SOLUTION: The composition for the neutron shield which has proper workability, as well as keeps neutron shielding capability and refractoriness, is obtained by lading the composition for the neutron shield with a powder of magnesium hydroxide whose particle diameter is 1.5 to 15μm. Moreover, powdery carbon, contained in the composition restrains air bubbles from appearing in resin, enables more effective shielding from neutrons. In addition, by including a density increasing agent in the composition, the specific gravity is increased, which enables more effective shielding from theγrays. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
