<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel reforming system capable of controlling the temperatures of reformed gas and a catalyst by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel reforming system comprises a reformer 4 which generates CO-containing reformed gas, a heat exchanger 2 which cools the hot reformed gas generated by the reformer 4, and a heat exchange type reactor with a cooling side passage 1c and a heating side passage 1h which carries a catalyst for accelerating the exothermic reaction of CO in the reformed gas, e.g., a CO removing unit 1, wherein the reformed gas cooled in the heat exchanger 2 is passed through the heating side passage 1h after passing through the cooling side passage 1c. Heat generated by the exothermic reaction in the heating side passage 1h is absorbed in the reformed gas passing through the cooling side passage 1c to suppress the rise in the temperature of the heating side passage 1h. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
