PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication means selecting method for avoiding the lack of data due to shortage in data transmission capability in a terminal and deterioration in communication quality by enabling a server to select a communication means when the terminal has a plurality of communication means. SOLUTION: In the communication means selecting method in a communication system for requiring communication to the server from the terminal having the plurality of communication means for communicating with the server, the terminal transmits terminal information to the server, the server determines an optimum communication means to communication requested from the terminal based on received terminal information and the content of communication requested from the terminal for informing to the terminal. The terminal changes the communication means to a communication means informed by the server when the communication means being currently used does not coincide with the communication means informed by the server.
