A dispenser for small sweets and pastilles is assembled by clipping together two plastic sides (1, 2) to enclose a container for the sweets. One half housing has a dispensing chute (9) and a fixed wall (11) with a dispensing aperture (14). The other half housing has an inner tab (10) with a dispensing aperture (13) to align over the fixed wall of the first half housing. In the normal position the two apertures are not aligned and the dispensing outlet is closed. When the user squeezes together the elastic sides of the housing the two apertures are aligned and sweets are dispensed. No separate dispensing mechanism is required.
