PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a high print quality is sustained by ensuring high rigidity and strength of the frame of a recording unit even when the size thereof is reduced in the vertical direction and unjamming operation can be facilitated. SOLUTION: A recording unit frame 15 being fixed with a recording unit 14 comprises a frame 20 being fixed with a guide mechanism 12 and a carriage moving mechanism 13 in order to perform recording internally onto a recording sheet by means of a print head 10 and provided with an opening 20a at least in the upper surface thereof, and a cover 30 bonded to the frame 20 to close a part of the opening 20a and provided with an opening 35 through which a user can access to a recording sheet in the frame 20.
