PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preceding vehicle catching display device for controlling the following of a vehicle distance capable of displaying a preceding vehicle caught in an image ahead of own vehicle in a monitor quickly when the preceding vehicle appears by obtaining a system at a reduced cost without increasing a computation load. SOLUTION: The vehicle provided with a vehicle distance following control system for making own vehicle follow the preceding vehicle running ahead of own vehicle for control is provided with a vehicle distance sensor 4 detecting a vehicle distance between own vehicle and the preceding vehicle, a CCD camera 3 photographing an image ahead of the vehicle, a monitor 10 displaying the photographed image, a block B4 calculating a preceding vehicle catching display position on the monitor corresponding to the vehicle distance to perform preceding vehicle catching display displaying the presence of the preceding vehicle at a vehicle distance equivalent position in the photographed image, and a block B6 displaying the preceding vehicle catching display by the block B4 in the monitor 10 by overlapping it to the image ahead of the vehicle by the CCD camera 3.
