<p>There is provided a stitch cam that includes a first cam (50, 150, 250) and a second cam (80, 180, 280) and includes drive means for each of the first cam and second cam. On the first cam, a large-sized stitch rate deciding cam face (61, 161, 261) and a receiving cam face (63, 163, 305) are formed at the same phase. The second cam has a common pull-down face, and a receiving cam face (95, 195, 331) is formed on the second cam at the same phase as a small-sized stitch rate deciding cam face (89, 189, 289). The second cam is supported by the first cam such that, when the first cam is displaced in forward and backward directions by the first cam drive means, the second cam is also displaced together in forward and backward directions, and the second cam is relatively displaced in forward and backward directions by the second cam drive means. This results that the position of the rate deciding cam face provided on the second cam can be displaced with respect to the rate deciding cam face provided on the first cam, so that small-sized stitches and large-sized stitches can be formed in the same course.</p> |
