PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable efficiency and reliability by suppressing the variation of a clearance, etc., in a supporting mechanism of a revolving scroll due to the variation in a temperature on running with a back pressure chamber into which compressed refrigerating gas is introduced in a scroll compressor. SOLUTION: There are provided with the revolving scroll of a spiral form, a fixed scroll of a spiral form engaging with it, and the supporting mechanism of the revolving scroll. The supporting mechanism is arranged between a back of the revolving scroll and the part of a housing opposed to it; and comprised of a recess forming the back pressure chamber at the back of the revolving scroll or the housing opposed to it, a seal member stored in the recess and forming the back pressure chamber in cooperation with it, and a communication hole for introducing refrigerating gas in the back pressure chamber. The material of the recess and the material of the seal member are a combination of materials with near coefficients of linear expansion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
