PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countercurrent cooling tower having a structure that the cooled water is hardly dispersed from an outside air inlet port even when the cross wind blows. SOLUTION: In this countercurrent cooling tower wherein an exhaust port 12 having an exhaust fan 11 is formed on a top part of the cooling tower 10, at least two outside air inlet ports 13 are formed on a side part of the cooling tower 10, a water spray tube 14 for spraying the cooled water is mounted inside of the cooling tower 10 at an upper position with respect to the lower outside air inlet port 13, a packing material 15 is placed between the outside air inlet port 13 and the water spray tube 14, and a louver 16 is mounted on the outside air inlet port 13 for preventing the liquid droplets of the cooled water from scattering to the external, a baffle plate 17 is mounted at a lower part of the packing material 15 to disturb the view between the louvers 16 of a plurality of outside air inlet ports 13, and the baffle plate 17 or the combination of the baffle plates 17 are mounted in a state that they have a height approximately same as the outside air inlet port 13, and pass through an approximately center when observed in a plan of the cooling tower 10.
