PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a penetrating X-ray data acquiring apparatus the efficiency of which little lowers even when a subject begins breathing in the course of scanning, and an X-ray CT system equipped with this apparatus. SOLUTION: On the occasion of acquiring penetrating X-ray data of a plurality of views about the subject of photographing by rotating an X-ray irradiation and detection arrangement along a helical path around the subject, a data acquiring means is made to acquire the penetrating X-ray data as to a predetermined range in the direction of the bodily axis on the basis of a breathing detection signal, while a stop of breathing of the subject continues. When the breathing begins midway, the acquisition of the penetrating X-ray data is interrupted and the data are acquired as to the residual portion of the range with the stop of breathing restarted.
