<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a replaceable organic light emitting diode lighting system having a simple structure using a single substrate, matching an existing lower structure for illumination, and achieving favorable transport efficiency, and obtaining various three-dimensional forms. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting system comprises a solid element type surface illumination light source, and a lighting apparatus to detachably contain and hold the light source in the three-dimensional curvature form. The solid element type surface illumination light source includes a flat and flexible substrate, a flexible organic light emitting diode (OLED) layer disposed on the flexible substrate, and including a first electrode and a second electrode to provide power to the OLED layer, a flexible enclosure cover to cover the OLED layer, and a first conductor and a second conductor electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, and extended beyond the enclosure cover for electrically connecting the first electrode and the second electrode to an external power source. The light source can thus be stored in a flat form without taking a large quantity of volume. The lighting apparatus includes a support to hold the light source in the curvature form, and contact points to provide electric contact to the first conductor and the second conductor with the external power source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
