METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY CORRECTING BENDING OF WORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for automatically correcting the bending of a work by which the bending of the work is automatically corrected by the simple modification of a conventional glass lathe.

SOLUTION: In the correction of the bending of the work 3 by chucking the work 3 to the glass lathe and heating, the bending of the work 3 is corrected by heating the work 3 while moving a burner along the work 3 and centering the work 3 using a work centering apparatus 5. The correction of the bending of the work 3 is performed intermittently at a work position with the same interval as the distance between the burner table 6 and the work centering apparatus 5 using the work centering apparatus 5 mounted integrally with a burner table of the glass lathe by heating the work 3 continuously or intermittently.
