PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fatigue testing machine that can appropriately set the variable gain of a correction amplifier where an inertia term is subtracted from the output (measured value) of a load detector without depending on the actual measurement of equivalent mass so that the same accurate measurement result as low-frequency excitation can be obtained by the fatigue test of high-frequency excitation even for a sample where the equivalent mass at a movable section such as the crank pedal system of a bicycle cannot be easily, actually measured, and to provide a gain calibrating method for the fatigue testing machine. SOLUTION: Processes (S3-S5) and processes (S6 and S7) are set. In the processes (S3-S5), a shaker is displaced and controlled so that the sample is excited at a specific high frequency and at the same time the displacement command of excitation control is adjusted so that the output of a displacement detector is allowed to coincide with the displacement of storage data in low-frequency excitation. In the processes (S6 and S7), the variable gain of the correction amplifier is adjusted so that the output of the correction amplifier during high-frequency excitation is similarly allowed to coincide with the load of the storage data in the low-frequency excitation.
