PURPOSE: A disc having a temporary defect management information region and a defect management region, a defect management method and a recording apparatus are provided to effectively use the defect management region having a restricted recording capacity. CONSTITUTION: A disc having a read-in region, a data region and a read-out region includes a defect management region and a temporary defect management information region. The defect management region is provided in at least one of the read-in region and read-out region. The temporary defect management region is placed in at least one of the read-in region and read-out region. The temporary defect management information region records at least temporary defect management information item corresponding to at least one temporary defect information region provided in the data region. The temporary defect management information includes a temporary defect information pointer that points the position of corresponding temporary defect information.
