<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner reduced in air flow resistance, having a thin form and excellent in deodorizing capacity. <P>SOLUTION: This air filter comprises a paper pleated filter 1, which has a plurality of pleated parts 11, the cloth part of which is impregnated with activated carbon particles 5 and an adsorbent 6 and the rear surface is coated with titanium dioxide particles 7, and a honeycomb filter 2 provided on the downstream side of the pleated filter 1 to have numberless honeycomb cores 21 and having through-holes the inner surfaces of which are coated with an admixture of activated carbon particles 5, an adsorbent 6 and titanium dioxide particles 7. Two filters 1 and 2 are provided so as to be opposed at both side end parts thereof.
