PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plain tile improving a sense of incompatibility with the finished roofing on the plain tile, having the same shape even if it is vertically turned over and having difficulty in making a waste dividable into two equal parts at the center in the vertical direction. SOLUTION: The plain tile is so constituted that it is formed in the shape of an oblong rectangle as a basic shape in plan view, uneven ridge sections (3) and trough sections (4) with the same width are alternately and consecutively provided to both horizontal sides (2) and (2), a point symmetrical shape has the same area as that of the basic shaped rectangle, it is dividable into two equal parts along a virtual line (6) connecting the centers of both vertical sides (5) and (5), there are a plurality of unpenetrated nail holes (8a) and (8b) provided to a position separated from both horizontal sides in the basic shape longer than a total length of a working length of roofing and a minimum overlapping margin in the surface section (7), each nail hole located on either one of both up and down sides by holding the virtual line is oppositely placed to the crest section, the nail hole located on the other side is oppositely placed to the trough section and that an interval between both up and down sides of the nail holes is larger than the uneven width of the crest section and the trough section.
