PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video and audio apparatus capable of setting a sound volume when power of the video and audio apparatus is turned on by an on-timer function differently from a sound volume just after setting of an off-timer. SOLUTION: The video and audio apparatus provided with the on-timer function and the off-timer function is characterized by including: a nonvolatile memory for storing a sound volume setting value for the on-timer and a sound volume setting value for the off-timer; a means for adjusting the sound volume at application of power to be a sound volume in response to the sound volume setting value for the on-timer stored in the nonvolatile memory when the power of the video and audio apparatus is turned on by the on-timer function; and a means for adjusting the sound volume just after the setting of the off-timer to be the sound volume in response to the stored sound volume setting value for the off-timer.
