PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image display device which is provided with an active matrix substrate which has a driving circuit which has active elements such as thin film transistors of high performance which operate with high-speed mobility, etc. in a driving circuit for driving a pixel part which is arranged in matrix shape. SOLUTION: A driving circuit having active elements such as thin film transistors, etc. made so that directions of channel become the directions of crystal growth of roughly belt-shaped crystal silicon films is arranged in the discontinuously modified area (virtual tiling) TL of the roughly belt-shaped crystal silicon film which is formed in a circuit part comprising a driving circuit DDR which is formed around a pixel area PAR of the active matrix substrate SUB 1.
