PURPOSE: A steering system for a vehicle is provided to absorb vibration generated from a road surface and a tire by oil and to prevent vibration from being transmitted to a steering wheel by mounting left and right cylinders filled with oil to both ends of a central rack bar. CONSTITUTION: A steering system for a vehicle is composed of a plurality of sensors for detecting traveling conditions of the vehicle; a control unit for receiving a value detected from the sensors; and a steering gear controlled by the control unit and driven by a pinion(PN) connected to a steering wheel. The steering gear comprises a rack housing(30); a central rack bar(101) mounted in the central inside of the rack housing and formed with a rack gear(101C) at the surface and left and right cylinders(101A,101B) for housing oil at both ends; a left rack bar(100A) of which an end is connected to a left tie rod and other end has a piston(102A) inserted into the left cylinder; a right rack bar(100B) of which an end is connected to a right tie rod and other end has a piston(102B) inserted into the right cylinder; left and right solenoid valves(SV1,SV2) connected to left and right cylinders, respectively, and driven by the control unit; and a pump(P) connected to the left and right cylinders.
