Odorizing fuel gases with a methane content of at least 60 wt.% comprises adding a mixture of a C1-C6 alkyl (meth)acrylate and a liquid nitrogen compound and optionally an antioxidant. Odorizing fuel gases with a methane content of at least 60 wt.% comprises adding a mixture of a C1-C6 alkyl (meth)acrylate and a liquid nitrogen compound of formula (I) or (II) and optionally an antioxidant: (Structures (I) and (II), page 14) A = H, Me or a free pair of electrons; B = H or Me; E = CR4R5 or CR4; X = CR6 or N; D = CR9R10 or NH; G = CR11R12 or NH; y, m = 0 or 1; m+y = 1 or 2; R1-R12 = H, aminomethyl, 1-4C acyl, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C alkyl. An Independent claim is also included for a fuel gas with a methane content of at least 60 wt.% containing a C1-C6 alkyl (meth)acrylate and a liquid nitrogen compound as above and optionally an antioxidant.
