PURPOSE: A method for oligomerizing isobutene in the presence of n-butene and a method for preparing 1-butene from a C4-hydrocarbon mixture are provided, to prepare diisobutene effectively and to prepare 1-butene from a C4-hydrocarbon mixture by removing isobutene by the isomerization of isobutene. CONSTITUTION: The isobutene is oligomerized by converting it on a solid ion exchange resin whose some acidic protons are exchanged with metal ions in the presence of n-butene. Preferably a mixture comprising isobutene, 1-butene, 2-butene and butane is used in the oligomerization, and the metal ions are ions of an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal and/or a rare earth metal. Preferably the oligomerization is carried out at a temperature of 5-160 deg.C. The efflux of oligomerization is fractionated into C8-olefins and C4-olefins, the isobutene present in the C4-olefin fraction is converted into an alcohol and an ether by another reaction and the C8-olefin fraction is hydrogenated to provide saturated hydrocarbons.
