摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoder capable of improving the read accuracy of data recorded in a particular recording area. SOLUTION: A register 132 has a storage capacity for 12 bytes, sequentially obtains reproduced data read from a BCA (burst cutting area) area of an optical disk 1 and stores the reproduced data. A ROM 131 stores three data patterns that correspond to a synchronous pattern (SB<SB>BCA</SB>: 2 bytes) for BCA data, a front data (8 bytes) showing the front of the BCA data, and a synchronous pattern (RS<SB>BCA1</SB>: 2 bytes) added to the front data. A comparison circuit 133 sequentially compares the data stored in the register 132 with the data patterns stored in the ROM 131. A determination circuit 134 monitors comparison results of the comparison circuit 133, and determines that the data read from the optical disk 1 is the front of the BCA data when data stored in the register 132 coincides with a data pattern stored in the ROM 131 within the range of a prescribed error.
