PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that all colors are compressed within a color reconstruction area of a device A but are not compressed within a color reconstruction area of the device B and there is a color which can not be reconstructed in a device B when color space compression is applied based upon a profile of the device A since a profile to be used for CMS is in a one-to-one correspondence relationship with a device. SOLUTION: Data of a source side device color inputted to the CMS are converted to color data of PCS which is a color space not depending on a device by a source side device profile 11. The data converted to the PCS are mapped within a common color reconstruction area wherein the color reconstruction area of the destination side device A and the color reconstruction area of the destination side device B are overlapped by the same color reconstruction profile 13.
