<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an immunopotentiator containing a phosphated sugar capable of solving problems with casein phosphopeptides in cost aspects and safety aspects while promising similar effects to those of casein phosphopeptides, and to provide a method for manufacturing the phosphated sugar. <P>SOLUTION: This immunopotentiator comprises the phosphated sugar, where the sugar is glucan which comprises a plurality of (1-3), (1-4) and (1-6)-linked α- or β-glucose residues and has a plurality of phosphate groups bonded in one molecule. The method for manufacturing the phosphated sugar comprises subjecting a sugar originating from a natural substance or a non-natural substance to a heat treatment in a phosphate buffer solution, subsequently freeze-drying the obtained treated matter, further heating and, if required, purifying the freeze-dried matter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
