<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost reflective liquid crystal display (LCD) device which can display a bright image with high contrast in any kinds of illumination surroundings. <P>SOLUTION: The low-cost reflective LCD device can display a bright image with high contrast in any kinds of illumination surroundings by arranging diffuse reflection elements satisfying a condition of arrangement that projecting and recessing diffuse reflection elements consisting of two curved surface reflection parts with nearly equal continuously varying inclined angles are arranged in closest packing and at random on a specified region (1), unit projecting and recessing diffuse reflection elements formed by combining at least two or more of the diffuse reflection elements are arranged in closest packing and at random on a specified region (2) and unit projecting and recessing diffuse reflection elements formed by combining at least two or more diffuse reflection elements consisting of curved surface reflection parts with a continuously varying inclined angle are arranged in closest packing and at random on a specified region (3) under a reflection film in a reflective color LCD device with a built-in reflection plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
