PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and a method for manufacturing printed matter which manufacture efficiently the printed matter to be attached in a packaging form for CD or the like. SOLUTION: A printing medium is fed to a digital printing machine 21 from a paper feeding unit 20 and digital printing of set printed matter is performed on the basis of printing information converted into digital data by the digital printing machine 21. After the printing, a booklet is bound through a sheet cut unit 25, a saddle sticking folding machine 26 and a three-side trimmer 27. A back cover and a cap are formed in the respective shapes thereof in a back cover/cap making unit 23. By digitally printing and preparing a plurality of kinds of set printed matters in sequence in prescribed numbers respectively in this equipment, manufacture of the printed matters in the packaging forms of different kinds by small numbers can be coped with efficiently.
