PURPOSE: A system and method for checking an identity using a finger blood vessel pattern and a recording medium including a computer program source as to the method are provided to check an identity of each individual by photographing many finger blood vessel pattern images of a user for checking an identity of the user, registering the finger blood vessel pattern images as many original copies, and comparing an inputted finger blood vessel pattern image with pre-registered many original copies one to one, respectively. CONSTITUTION: An image input unit(10) photographs a finger blood vessel pattern image using a plurality of light sources(13) being operated by stored driving signals, respectively, and a camera(11) having a zoom function of high power. A function setting unit(20) includes a function setting key for checking whether a finger blood vessel pattern image being photographed through the image input unit(10) is registered as the original copy or a confirmation request copy. An original copy storing unit(40) stores many original copies of a finger blood vessel pattern capable of specifying an individual. A blood vessel pattern checking unit(60) supplies a driving signal designated in the image input unit(10) and checks an identity of a user by registering a finger blood vessel pattern image being obtained through the image input unit(10) in the original copy storing unit(40) according to key input states of the function setting unit(20) or comparing the finger blood vessel pattern image with pre-registered many original copies of a finger blood vessel pattern image one to one, respectively.
