<p>A printing device, comprising a printing head (11) for printing data, a conveying assist member (4) having a holding part (41) for holding one sheet of card-like printed matter (C), conveying means (13, 14) conveying the conveying assist member (4) to the printing head (11) at a specified feed rate, and a position detection means (17) for detecting the position of the conveying assist member (4) on a conveying route, wherein the conveying means are controlled based on the detected card position when the start of the card-like printed matter is detected and the card-like printed matter is printed, whereby defective printing such as displacement of printing and extension and retraction of printing due to variations in the outlines of a platen roller and a conveying roller and the hardness of the rubber thereof and to the error of feed pitch by a gear train can be prevented from occurring when the card-like printed matter is printed.</p> |
