PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device that efficiently irradiates a photocurable composition applied onto a substrate with light. SOLUTION: Two or more tubular lamps 5 are arranged in a 2-dimensional array so that the longitudinal axis thereof is orthogonal to the transfer direction of the substrate 3. As for the tubular lamps 5 arranged in the relation before and after in the transfer direction, the sides of electrodes each having different polarity are arranged in parallel and in proximity to each other. Therefore, in the region below the end side of the tubular lamps 5 where the illuminance to the photocurable composition 2 is low, the light from the tubular lamps 5 arranged before and after overlaps. As a result, the whole surface of the photocurable composition is irradiated with light generally uniformly, maintaining the illuminance generally constant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
