PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mechanical parking apparatus which ensures positioning of an lifting truck at an entrance thereof irrespective of the stopping accuracy of a traveling cart having a lifting function or the length of a lifting stroke of the same. SOLUTION: In the parking apparatus, the traveling cart which travels in a parking zone is provided with a guide member for guiding a distance between the entrance and the parking zone. The parking apparatus is provided with a second guide member at a lower portion of the entrance, for guiding the lifting truck. Therefore the guide member guides the lifting truck to a location near the entrance and the second guide member guides the lifting truck at a location of the entrance. The guide member is formed like a U-shaped guide rail having an end-thickened contour, and the second guide member has a tapered contour. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
