PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field detecting element which can simply and easily suppress the deterioration of characteristics due to the occurrence of a demagnetizing field. SOLUTION: In the magnetic field detecting element in which the change of electrical characteristics in response to the change of an external magnetic field is detected, electrodes 3, 4 for detecting the change of the external magnetic field 5 are disposed on a long magnetosensitive body 2 excepting its both ends which generate the strong demagnetizing field against the external magnetic field.
