PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic traverse motion drum with a small mass, which is used for an automatic winder or the like. SOLUTION: The drum body of the traverse motion drum 1 used for the automatic winder or the like is constituted of a double cylinder consisting of inner-cylinder sections 5A, 5B and an outer-cylinder section 9, the inner-inner-cylinder sections 5A, 5B and the outer-cylinder section 9 being integrally-formed by a ceramic sintered body, thereby attaining high rigidity even with small thickness and light-weight production. It is thus possible to attain significant reduction in the power consumption of a rotation driving source of the traverse motion drum 1 and long life of the rotation driving source.
