摘要 PURPOSE: A Ti(CN)-based cermet containing high nitrogen having superior cutting performance by improving impact resistance and wear resistance as well as sinterability compared to conventional Ti(CN)-based cermet is provided, and a manufacturing method of the same are provided. CONSTITUTION: The Ti(CN)-based cermet comprises 30 to 60 wt.% of low or medium nitrogen contained Ti(Cx-1Nx), 5 to 20 wt.% of high nitrogen contained Ti(Cx-1Ny) and 10 to 25 wt.% of binder phase as principal constituents, and 20 to 40 wt.% of M(CxNyOz). The method of Ti(CN)-based cermet comprises the processes of milling a mixture prepared by blending 30 to 60 wt.% of low or medium nitrogen contained Ti(Cx-1Nx), 5 to 20 wt.% of high nitrogen contained Ti(Cx-1Ny), 10 to 25 wt.% of binder phase and 20 to 40 wt.% of M(CxNyOz); forming green compact by drying the milled mixture; and sintering the green compact at 1,450 deg.C for one hour under the vacuum condition, wherein the milling process is performed by milling the blended materials along with superhard balls having diameter of 5 mm and alcohol as a solvent for 15 hours using an attritor, and the dried green compact is pressed to a pressure of 1,000 kg/cm¬2 after drying the green compact, and wherein the vacuum sintering process is performed in a furnace formed of graphite heating element and heat insulating material after putting the green compact on a graphite plate.
