PURPOSE: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube is provided to maintain an incident angle uniformly, when each electron beam generated in both a low current and a high current territory is incident to main lens, and to improve a focus quality. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube comprises a cathode emitting an electron beam, a control electrode(51), a screen electrode(52), and a plurality focus electrodes arranged at a front of the screen electrode. The control electrode(51) includes an electron beam through hole arranged nearby the cathode and a vertically long shape slot(51b) around the electron beam through hole(51c). The screen electrode(52) includes an electron beam through hole arranged adjacent to the control electrode and a horizontally long shape slot(52b) around the electron beam through hole(52c).
