PURPOSE: A reflector drive-type light distribution-variable head light system having an auxiliary lamp and a control method thereof are provided to secure a wider visual field for a driver by mounting a head light device and the auxiliary lamp and by controlling the head light device and the auxiliary lamp to a traveling mode of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A reflector drive-type light distribution-variable head light system having an auxiliary lamp is composed of a head light device including an electric bulb(11) mounted to the front of a vehicle and rotated upward and downward or right and left to regulate the steering range and a reflector positioned at the rear of the electric bulb to face the light distribution of the bulb to the front of the vehicle; an auxiliary lamp(14) arranged at the side of the head light device to have a region out of the steering range of the head light device as the steering direction; an actuator(13) for driving the reflector and the auxiliary lamp; and a control unit(20) for controlling the actuator to a traveling mode of the vehicle.
