PURPOSE: Provided are a method and an apparatus for rapidly floating contaminants in a dissolved air flotation tank by supplying the mixture of wastewater, air and chemicals to the tank. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of introducing wastewater into dissolved air flotation tank using a turbine or a vacuum suction pump, feeding chemicals to a wastewater pipe line, injecting air to the pipe line, breaking the mixture of the wastewater, chemicals and air by turbine blade or pump impeller while mixing the chemicals, air and wastewater, and injecting the mixture of the chemicals, wastewater and air to a dissolved air flotation tank. The apparatus comprises a wastewater tank for storing wastewater, a reactor installed between the wastewater tank and a suction device, a pipe line for sucking chemicals, wastewater and air, a dissolved air flotation tank, and a scum tank for eliminating scum floated on the surface of wastewater in the dissolved air flotation tank.
