PURPOSE: An error display device of a light distribution-variable head light system for sensing errors of a motor and a control method thereof are provided to prevent accidents in advance by informing a driver of errors of the motor. CONSTITUTION: An error display device of a light distribution-variable head light system for sensing errors of a motor is composed of left and right reflectors(12a,12b) arranged at rear sides of left and right electric bulbs(11a,11b) to reflect the light distribution of the electric bulbs installed to a vehicle; left and right motors(13a,13b) for rotating the reflectors at left and right, respectively; a current supplying unit(14) for supplying currents to the left and right motors; a current measuring unit(15) for measuring a driving current of the left and right motors; a breakdown deciding unit(16) for deciding the breakdown of the motors to difference of the driving currents of the left and right motors measured from the current measuring unit; and a breakdown lamp(17) lit up when the breakdown deciding unit decides that the motor is broken down.
