SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING POSITION OF FISHING GROUND THROUGH REMOTE OBSERVATION

PURPOSE: A system and a method for detecting a position of a fishing ground are provided to precisely detect the position of the fishing ground by calculating position information of an observer, a coordinate of the fishing ground and azimuth of a compass. CONSTITUTION: A system for detecting a position of a fishing ground includes a WAAS GPS receiver(1) for calculating the present position based on signals transmitted from a GPS satellite and a WAAS GPS satellite. A moving direction and azimuth are detected by an electronic compass(3). Position information of the fishing ground, an electronic map and data inputted by a user are stored in a database section. A computer(5) is connected to the WAAS GPS receiver(1), the electronic compass(3), a potable laser distance measuring device(2) and the database section so as to control the operation of the elements. A control unit(4) is provided to calculate a coordinate of a remote observing place based on the electronic map.
