A microscope slide for viewing a specimen under a microscope including: a) a bottom plate; b) a cover plate; c) an attachment means to fix the bottom plate and the cover plate together; and d) two or more counting chambers for counting the number of one or more entities contained in the specimen; where the bottom plate and the cover plate are capable of being separated completely from each other when not in use, and where each counting chamber is formed by a recessed section in a surface of either the bottom plate or the cover plate or in the surfaces of both the bottom plate and the cover plate.
